SpaceCoast Romance Authors Contest

I've signed up to judge the Launching a Star 2007 writing contest for the SpacecoasT Authors of Romance (STAR) chapter of RWA this fall. Sounds like a lot of fun and a good chance for you to rack up those contest winner kudos for your writing resume and cover letters.  Surf on over to authorsofromance.com and check out the SpacecoasT site. If you live near Florida's Space Coast and you write romance, what are you waiting for? Join this group of like-minded writers and benefit from the comaraderie and wealth of information. Members include Kresley Cole, Debbie Macomber, Julie Elizabeth Leto, Roxanne St. Claire, Rhonda Pollero (writing as Kelsey Roberts) and many other talented authors.

Here's the lowdown on the Launching a Star contest:

The contest is open to any writer who is unpublished in book-length romantic fiction (both print or electronic). The five categories are: Category Contemporary, Single Title Contemporary, Historical, Paranormal, and Young Adult. To enter just send 3 copies of your "best" chapter showcasing the interaction between your hero and heroine up to a maximum of 20 pages, plus a 2-page chapter set-up that will not be judged.

The winner of each category receives a STAR plaque. The second and third place finalists receive a certificate. The overall winner receives an official International Star Registry star named for them. How cool is that?

Fees: SpacecoasT Authors of Romance members: $25, non-members: $30, and you can enter as many times as you like. Deadline: November 1, 2007

Who knows...I may be judging your entry this fall.

I'd love to enter that contest, but when I went there, the deadline was November, 2006. I tried to email the contact person and I was taken to Yahoo groups but was unable to email her. Please advise.
